Itinerary Details

Day 01 Arrival in Leh

Upon your arrival at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Leh is situated at an altitude of 11,562 feet, so it’s important to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude on the first day.

In the evening, you can explore the nearby Leh Market or visit the serene Shanti Stupa for beautiful sunset views over the city. Leh Market offers a variety of local handicrafts and traditional Ladakhi items.

Day 02 Leh – Alchi – Lamayuru – Kargil (230 km / 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast, begin your journey to Kargil. On the way, visit the ancient Alchi Monastery, known for its beautiful murals and intricate artwork. Next, visit the spectacular Lamayuru Monastery, located in the scenic "Moonland" area, which offers breathtaking views of the lunar-like landscapes.

Continue your drive through Fotu La Pass (13,478 feet) and reach Kargil by evening. Kargil is an important town on the Srinagar-Leh highway, known for its historical significance and stunning landscapes.

Day 03 Kargil – Drass – Leh (200 km / 5-6 hrs)

After breakfast, visit the famous Drass War Memorial, dedicated to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War. Drass is the second coldest inhabited place in the world and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

After paying homage at the war memorial, drive back to Leh through the scenic mountain roads. Enjoy the majestic views of the Zanskar range and Indus River en route.

Day 04 Leh – Khardung La Pass – Nubra Valley (125 km / 4-5 hrs)

After breakfast, embark on an exciting journey to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable roads at 18,380 feet. The drive offers stunning views of snow-covered peaks and valleys.

Upon arrival in Nubra Valley, visit the Diskit Monastery, which houses a giant statue of Maitreya Buddha and offers panoramic views of the valley. In the afternoon, explore the sand dunes of Hunder and enjoy a ride on the rare double-humped Bactrian camels.

Day 05 Nubra Valley – Turtuk – Thang – Nubra Valley (160 km / 6 hrs)

After breakfast, set out for a day trip to Turtuk and Thang, the northernmost villages of India, located near the Indo-Pak border. Turtuk offers a unique cultural experience with its Balti heritage, and you can explore its narrow lanes, apricot orchards, and traditional homes.

Continue to Thang, the last village before the Line of Control (LoC), where you can enjoy stunning views of the Karakoram Range. In the late afternoon, return to Nubra Valley for an overnight stay at your camp or hotel.
Day 06 Nubra Valley – Pangong Tso (200 km / 6 hrs)

After an early breakfast, drive to the famous Pangong Lake via the scenic Shyok route. The journey offers breathtaking views of rugged mountain terrain and pristine rivers.

Upon arrival at Pangong Lake, marvel at its crystal-clear waters that change color throughout the day, ranging from deep blue to shimmering green. The lake is located at an altitude of 14,270 feet and is one of the highest saltwater lakes in the world.

Day 07 Pangong Lake – Leh (225 km / 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast, enjoy a peaceful morning by the lakeshore before beginning your journey back to Leh. En route, cross the Chang La Pass (17,590 feet), one of the highest passes in the world.

Visit the beautiful Thiksey Monastery, known for its Tibetan architecture and a large statue of Maitreya Buddha. You can also visit the famous Druk White Lotus School (as seen in the movie "3 Idiots"). Arrive in Leh by evening and relax at your hotel.

Day 08 Leh Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, explore the highlights of Leh with a visit to Magnetic Hill, a unique phenomenon where vehicles seem to defy gravity and move uphill on their own. Continue to the Indus-Zanskar River Confluence and the sacred Gurudwara Pathar Sahib.

Afterward, visit the Leh Palace, a 17th-century structure offering panoramic views of the Leh Valley. In the evening, you can stroll through Leh Market to pick up souvenirs or visit Shanti Stupa for a tranquil sunset.

Day 09 Departure from Leh

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport for your onward journey, taking back cherished memories of your Ladakh adventure.
