Itinerary Details

Day 01 Guwahati – Kaziranga

Arrive in Guwahati and drive to Kaziranga National Park (approx. 200 km / 5 hours). Famous for its population of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Check in at your lodge, and if time permits, you can explore nearby tea gardens or visit the Kaziranga Orchid Park.

Day 02 Sightseeing | Kaziranga National Park – Shillong

Early morning, embark on a jeep or elephant safari in Kaziranga’s central range to spot wildlife such as rhinos, elephants, and various bird species. After breakfast, proceed to Shillong (approx. 250 km / 6 hours). Known as the "Scotland of the East," Shillong is a beautiful hill station with a blend of modernity and traditional charm. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 03 Shillong - Laitlum Canyon - Mawphlang – Shillong

Start your day with a visit to Laitlum Canyon, a breathtaking viewpoint offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Next, head to Mawphlang Sacred Forest, a sacred grove known for its rich biodiversity and cultural significance. Take a guided nature walk and learn about the ancient traditions of the Khasi tribes. Return to Shillong by evening.

Day 04 Shillong – Cherrapunjee

After breakfast, depart for Cherrapunjee (approx. 60 km / 2 hours), one of the wettest places on earth. En route, stop at Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak for scenic views. In Cherrapunjee, explore attractions like Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and Dainthlen Falls. These natural wonders offer stunning views and exciting exploration opportunities.

Day 05 Cherrapunjee - Nongriat Trek (Double Decker Root Bridge) – Cherrapunjee

Day 07 Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Dawki (Shnongpdeng) – Shillong

Depart for Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia. Stroll through the village and see the unique Living Root Bridge nearby. Continue to Dawki, located on the border with Bangladesh, where you can enjoy a boat ride on the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River at Shnongpdeng. In the evening, proceed to Shillong for an overnight stay.
Day 08 Shillong - Guwahati

After breakfast, depart for Guwahati (approx. 100 km / 3 hours). If time permits, visit the famous Kamakhya Temple before your transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey, concluding your 8-day tour of Shillong, Cherrapunjee, and Kaziranga.
