Itinerary Details

Day 01 Guwahati to Shillong (99 km / 2 hours 45 min)

Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and driven to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. Known as the "Scotland of the East," Shillong offers lush green hills, colonial architecture, and a pleasant climate.

En route, stop by the Umiam Lake, a vast reservoir surrounded by hills. Upon arrival in Shillong, check in to your hotel and enjoy an evening stroll through the local markets, or relax at the famous Police Bazaar.

Day 02 Shillong – Mawlynnong Village – Dawki – Shillong

After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Mawlynnong Village, often called the "Cleanest Village in Asia." Take a walk through the village and explore its famous living root bridges, a natural marvel created by the interweaving roots of rubber trees.

Afterward, proceed to Dawki, known for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. Take a boat ride on the river and marvel at the transparency of the water, where boats appear to float on air. Return to Shillong in the evening.

Day 03 Shillong – Cherrapunji – Shillong (54 km / 1 hr 45 min one way)

After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth, known for its heavy rainfall, misty hills, and stunning waterfalls. Visit the famous Nohkalikai Falls, India’s tallest plunge waterfall, and the Seven Sisters Falls.

Explore the Mawsmai Caves, a network of limestone caves filled with natural formations. On your way back to Shillong, stop by Elephant Falls to witness its multi-tiered cascades.

Day 04 Shillong to Tezpur (266 km / 6 hours)

Day 05 Tezpur to Dirang (195 km / 6 hours)

After breakfast, start your scenic drive towards Dirang, a picturesque town located in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. The drive offers stunning views of the Himalayan foothills, terraced fields, and traditional villages.

Upon arrival in Dirang, check in to your hotel and explore the local sights, including the Dirang Dzong and the Hot Water Spring, known for its therapeutic properties.

Day 06 Dirang – Sela Pass – Tawang (137 km / 6 hours)

After breakfast, continue your journey towards Tawang, crossing the stunning Sela Pass (13,700 ft), one of the highest motorable passes in India. The pass offers breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks and the serene Sela Lake.

On the way, visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to an Indian soldier who fought bravely in the 1962 Indo-China War. Arrive in Tawang by late afternoon and check in to your hotel. Spend the evening exploring the local market.

Day 07 Tawang

After breakfast, visit the iconic Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and a significant center of Mahayana Buddhism. Explore the monastery’s beautiful architecture and rich cultural heritage.

In the afternoon, take an excursion to the Ptso Lake and the Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake), known for their serene beauty and stunning mountain backdrops.

Day 08 Tawang to Bomdila (180 km / 5 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Bomdila, a small town known for its panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas. En route, you can visit the Nuranang Falls, a breathtaking waterfall surrounded by dense forests.

Upon arrival in Bomdila, check in to your hotel. In the evening, visit the Bomdila Monastery, which offers a peaceful retreat amidst the mountains.

Day 09 Bomdila to Kaziranga (240 km / 6 hours)

After breakfast, depart from Bomdila and drive towards Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the famous one-horned rhinoceros. The drive offers scenic views as you descend from the high-altitude regions into the plains of Assam.
