Itinerary Details

Day 01 Arrival in Srinagar

Upon arrival at Srinagar Airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your houseboat or hotel. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is known for its mesmerizing landscapes, houseboats, and vibrant gardens. In the evening, take a relaxing Shikara ride on Dal Lake to witness the famous floating gardens and the picturesque surroundings.

You can also visit the Mughal Gardens, including Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh, which showcase the grandeur of Mughal architecture and offer a peaceful retreat amidst beautiful flowers and trees.

Day 02 Excursion to Pahalgam (88 km / 2 hrs 16 min)

After breakfast, head out for an excursion to Pahalgam, also known as the "Valley of Shepherds." This scenic destination is surrounded by lush greenery, flowing rivers, and majestic mountains, making it a popular spot for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Along the way, you can visit the famous Saffron fields and the ancient Awantipura Ruins.

In Pahalgam, you can take a leisurely walk along the Lidder River or visit Betaab Valley, which is known for its cinematic landscapes. Adventure seekers can enjoy activities such as pony rides or river rafting (at an additional cost).

Day 03 Excursion to Gulmarg (49.5 km / 1 hr 42 min)

After breakfast, embark on a day trip to Gulmarg, a popular hill station and ski destination. Known as the "Meadow of Flowers," Gulmarg is home to lush green meadows, pine forests, and the world’s highest golf course.

One of the major attractions in Gulmarg is the Gondola Ride, which takes you up to Apharwat Peak for stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. During the winter months, Gulmarg is famous for its skiing and snowboarding opportunities.

Day 04 Srinagar to Kargil via Sonamarg (201.5 km / 5 hrs 30 min)

After breakfast, start your journey to Kargil via the picturesque Sonamarg, known as the "Meadow of Gold." Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Thajiwas Glacier and the surrounding snow-clad mountains as you drive along.

Continue your drive through the Zoji La Pass (11,575 ft), one of the highest passes in the region, which offers stunning views of the rugged Himalayan landscapes. Upon arrival in Kargil, check in to your hotel and spend the evening exploring the town, which played a key role in the 1999 Kargil War.

Day 05 Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru (216.6 km / 4 hrs 41 min)

After breakfast, drive from Kargil to Leh, passing through the spectacular Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh. The landscape here is often referred to as "Moonland" due to its resemblance to the surface of the moon.

As you approach Leh, stop at the Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to move uphill against gravity. You will also visit the Indus-Zanskar River Confluence and the ancient Alchi Monastery before arriving in Leh.

Day 06 Sightseeing in Leh

After breakfast, explore the cultural and spiritual treasures of Leh. Begin with a visit to the famous Leh Palace, a 17th-century palace offering panoramic views of the city. Then, head to the serene Shanti Stupa, a white-domed structure built by Japanese Buddhists that overlooks the city.

Next, visit the iconic Thiksey Monastery, one of the largest and most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh, known for its stunning architecture and impressive Maitreya Buddha statue. You can also visit the Hemis Monastery, the richest monastery in Ladakh, located in a picturesque valley.

Day 07 Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass (160.3 km / 4 hrs 43 min)

After breakfast, drive to the picturesque Nubra Valley via the famous Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft), the highest motorable road in the world. Nubra Valley is known for its stunning landscapes, sand dunes, and monasteries.

Visit the Diskit Monastery and see the giant statue of Maitreya Buddha. Later, explore the sand dunes of Hunder and experience a camel safari on the unique double-humped Bactrian camels.

Day 08 Nubra to Pangong via Shayok River (140 km / 6 hrs)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the famous Pangong Lake via the Shayok River route. The journey offers stunning views of rugged mountains and tranquil river valleys.

Upon reaching Pangong Lake, marvel at its crystal-clear waters, which change colors from blue to green throughout the day. The lake, situated at an altitude of 14,270 feet, is a mesmerizing sight that stretches across the India-China border.

Day 09 Pangong to Leh (222.9 km / 5 hrs 22 min)

After breakfast, enjoy the scenic views around Pangong Lake before starting your drive back to Leh via the Chang La Pass (17,590 ft). En route, visit the famous Thiksey Monastery and the Druk White Lotus School, featured in the Bollywood movie "3 Idiots."
